Tis the Season :)

I just wanted to take a moment to remind you of those who unfortunately don’t have a lot to look forward to this Christmas.ย For some, Christmas is a lonely holiday with nothing much to offer and can be especially painful for them if they don’t have a lot of family around them.

If you are able to sprinkle a little Christmas magic & help those in need then please do, don’t hold back. ย There are homeless shelters all around the world who need help every single day. But if you can offer food or warm clothing this Christmas then I can guarantee you that would be the most well received gift you will give this year.

Christmas is about giving but that doesn’t mean you have to spend money, instead share joy & kindness. Spare a moment of your time for family, friends or neighbours who are spending Christmas alone. Sitting down for a chat with them, posting a Christmas card withย your best wishes or doing something kind for them will mean the world to a lonely soul and help turn their Christmas around and it doesn’t have to cost a penny.

So this Christmas I ask you to please open your heart & think about those in need.

Help make their Christmas holiday sparkle with happiness ๐Ÿ™‚

4 Simple Things

As we are coming into the colder months now I thought I would share 4 simple things that I love to do in the colder months that cheer me up & might cheer you up too ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Hot Chocolate Dates – Take a friend, family member, whoever you like and go along to Costa (or wherever sells your favorite drink or food) for a nice lunch or drink “date”. Time is best spent with those you love & even if you just take an hour out of your day to go and grab a nice warm drink, it gives you the chance to sit down, relax for a while and catch up on anything you may have missed! OR. It can be just as nice to cuddle up at home with a drink in your favourite mug if you don’t feel like venturing out ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Winter Walks – Put on your warmest clothes & go out for a refreshing walk to clear your head. Somewhere with beautiful scenery & take your dog along if you have one.

In the UK, we have to wear at LEAST 20 layers to go outside…

and that is in summer! Just kidding, it’s not that bad ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

3. Cosy Nights In – Cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket & watch some of your favourite films. It’s only October & I already want to watch “Elf” !

4. Christmas Shopping! – I know it’s early yet so this will be later in the year & sometimes it can be quite stressful but, for me there is something magical about shopping at Christmas. It can be easier to do some of it online now but I still take some time to travel to somewhere so I get to experience the beautiful twinkling lights, the shops and shopping centres expertly decorated, the festive treats..I could go on and on.

Although, there has been times when it feels more like this:

Thanks for reading! What are you looking forward to? ๐Ÿ™‚

Things I Love About Christmas

Christmas time is well & truly here now & the bah humbugs of our communities can’t deny it any longer – hehe!

This time next week it will be Christmas Eve & children all over the world will be eagerly waiting for the day to end so that they can climb into their beds & lie there with their tired but hope filled eyes, hoping to hear a jingle from Santas reindeer on the roof.

I love this time of year. ย The festive spirit, the families & friends coming together, the smell of the delicious food being prepared on Christmas day! The children laughing & playing, the joy on their faces when they receive a gift that they had been wishing for for so long!

Snow (if we are lucky enough to get it) covering everything in sight, making it look like we live inside a giant snow globe. That moment when you come in from the freezing cold outside to a comforting mug of hot chocolate. ย Cozy jumpers. The decorations people put outside for everybody to enjoy as they go past their houses or the shopping centers decorated so beautifully. The peppermint candy canes! The way everything sparkles in the light. Paw prints in the snow. Candles…I could go on forever!

I can’t wait to spend some time with the people that I love on the most magical holiday of the year, I just wish it lasted longer because it will be 2014 before we know it!

What do you love about Christmas? ๐Ÿ™‚

Tis The Season…

It’s that time of year again – Where does the time go?!

The festive season is here & they will be showing the magical Christmas themed films on TV very soon. One of my favourites has inspired this post today…

Elf! ๐Ÿ˜€

Will Ferrell is a brilliant actor, he is hilarious! – In my opinion of course ๐Ÿ™‚

If you have 5 minutes to spare, watch this clip of a few funny moments from the film, it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

If you have never seen the film before then watch it this year ๐Ÿ™‚ , I personally think that its great for both adults & children & remember, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear ๐Ÿ˜‰

Keep smiling, keep dreaming & enjoy the festive season…it will be over before you know it!
